Luminance Contrast Testing is a the difference between one light reflected surface or component, compared to the light reflected from another surface or component by using a spectrometer colour meter.
The meters obtains 2 reflective values from the two surfaces and is then entered into a formula (Bowman-Sapolinski Equation) which calculates the Luminance Contrast Reading.
Readings for tactiles and stair nosing need to be read in both Wet and Dry situations to confirm if the installed product complies with Australian Standards AS1428.4.1:2009.
